I heard something about Qantas that I don't like.?

Two things, actually:

First, I read that they haven't had a fatal accident simply out of sheer luck. But they have had safety issues raised against them by the Australian government, from what I've read.

Second, I heard that they never seat unaccompanied kids next to male passengers. That's sexism against men, because it's assuming that all men are pedophiles.

My bf, who's 43, is great with kids -- and an unaccompanied kid sitting next to him on the plane would be fine. In fact, the kid would probably have a great time because my bf is really great with kids.

But if he flew on Qantas, they'd view him as a potential pedophile simply because he has a penis. That's bulls--t.

its not just qantas. it is with a lot of others as well. scared of being sued. the maintenance of qantas planes used to be really great when it was done in aus. but now its done by foriegners its not up to scratch. get it back to aus and it will remain great

Oh, and Duh, you think that other passengers would not notice if anything inappropriate was happening ? They are confined in the passenger cabin of an aircraft, not in a campervan on some isolated beach !

Peadophile, yeah, right. I DON'T THINK SO ! Report It

About the seating unaccompanied kids next to male passengers thing,i think they're just doing it for safety precautions because you never know what will the guy next to you be like..they're strangers afterall

But he'd be landing alive.

MAny airlines have the same rule.
I think your really over dramatising ....as its not just your boyfriend ..they are not vieing him as a pedophile as it applies then to all men but what they are doing is taking precautions ....To many people children come first then a person with an ego getting their panties in a knot
Just get your own kids and he'll have some kids to sit next to...that will solve your problem

There's some sexism there, but pedophilia is not the real reason. The real reason behind it is because women are more nurturing and would be more likely to look after the child. She instinctively keeps an eye on the child, whereas men are more likely to just read and sleep. Stewardesses don't really check on the child that much - they're busy. So they put the child next to the most likely baby-sitter.
