Going to Spain over Christmas (Grenada & Cordoba). What are some other great places to see in the area?

Thinking about Jaen, is it good?

In Granada the "must" is the Alhambra, of course; as the other people say here, there are long lines of people every morning trying to get tickets to enter the palaces; but you can buy the tickets in advance either on the Internet (http://www.granadahomestay.com/visitinga... or once you are in Spain, go to any BBVA bank and they sell the tickets there. I have bought them in the BBVA bank whenever I麓ve been to the Alhambra. Maybe there are no tickets for the day you go to the bank, but there aren麓t usually problems for the next day. The ticket includes the gardens of Generalife, which are just beautiful.
The Cathedral is really beautiful too; it was built by Diego de Silo茅. Here you have the site:

Very near the Cathedral, it麓s the Royal Chapel; it麓s another must!! The Catholic King and Queen (Isabel and Ferdinand) are buried there, as well as their daughter Juana and her husband Felipe, who were king and queen too. The site:

Go up to the ski resort in Sierra Nevada. You can ski or just walked around and enjoy its beautiful views. There麓s a road which is the highest in Europe going up to Veleta peak, although you have to go by cablecar or walking (which maybe not possible in that time of the year because of the snow) because the road is now forbidden for cars and buses for ecological reasons.
Visit the old moorish quarter in Granada, the Albayzin; narrow streets with wonderful views of the Alhambra from St. Nicholas square.
Go to the park called Garcia Lorca, like the poet; it麓s really nice for a relaxing walk or just to sit and have some rest.
And go into the bars and get free snacks with your drink; yes, they are called "tapas" and there麓s an incredible variety of them, both cold and hot.

I have been to C贸rdoba only once, but I loved it; the "Mezquita" (Mosque) was beautiful as well as all the old part of the city. This is a useful site:

I have been to Ja茅n several times; it麓s much more small than Granada or C贸rdoba and it has less things to see; but it麓s worthy a visit to its castle (Castillo de Santa Catalina); check this site:

That麓s all!! Hope you麓ll enjoy.

Do not miss the AlHambra palace in Granada, make sure you get your tickets in advance.
In Cordoba do not miss the Grand Mosque and the old city. Beside that, walk on the old bridge and visit the Tower's museum. Enjoy your trip and eat well.
