I am going to Marbella with my 12 year old son. I have been?

there before a few times but mainly for sunbathing. My daughter had to drop out of holiday because of an exam. I have been to the zoo near estapona, to Gibraltar for the day and to Ronda already. Can anyone give me some more ideas of where to take him as he will not tolerate me sunbathing all day, he will be bored silly. Is there anywhere that does water sports he can do? Any other ideas? Thanks

There are so many places to go I cannot write them all down, but if you have a look at this link it has lots of activities and most of them have web pages you can link to directly

I'm sure you will have a great time
Anna

Take a day trip/tour of Grenada, Make sure the tour goes through the fabulous moorish fort of Al Hambra.

Or take a day trip/tour to Seville and see through the 3rd largest gothic cathedral in europe. and take a one hour boat cruise on the river in Seville

Tour buses are available for these trips.

A couple of hours in Alligator Land near Torremolinos. Slightly tacky but our six year old daughter loved it when we stayed in Marbella in February this year. Go to Mijas and take him around the bull ring, fascinating. Puerto Banus is also very lively and great for people watching.

Fuengirola zoo has been recently renovated and is very nice now. Tivoli world will please any 12 year old lad.I also suggest you take him to Mijas Aqua park then you can sunbathe and he can enjoy the super slides and pools etc. You could also take him on a boat trip to see the dolphins from Puerto Banus or visit the Selwo Marina at Benalmadena or Seaworld also at Benalmadena.

If you go to these pages on my web site you will be able to find out about these attractions.

Have a good time!

You could try an evening at Tivoli World near Mijas , it is a
a park with fast rides etc , good luck.

a lot of water sports are banned now in Andalucia due to health and saftey. there are some registered places 1 in Puerto Banus. Estapona and one in Marbessa ( ask for Nikki beach) but they're all mega expensive. there is a new ice skating rink opened in Benalmadena though

Have a look at the attractions page on the attached link, it should give you plenty of idea's http://spanish-apartment.com/attractions...

Can't recommend anything but would like to say something about water sports for kids. Mainly because we have had a couple of bad experiences. Firstly went out in some canoes (no life jackets supplied and they sprang a leak and had to be rescued, 2 kids and 2 adults clinging on for dear life for over an hour before anybody noticed). Secondly went on some jet skis, wore life jackets this time (we learnt our lessons) but they overturned and did not right themselves and again had to be pulled into the beach. I think the regulations of such waters sports are very lax, and we live here and argued with the people on the safety but they just shrugged their shoulders and walked off!! So be a bit wary.
