When is the Carnival in Puerto de la cruz and whats it like? |
When is the Carnival in Puerto de la cruz and whats it like? "Carnaval" as it is here is on in February, normally around the 10th. The best part of the carnival is in Santa Cruz rather than Puerto de la Cruz. It's said that carnival here is second in the world to Rio. It's the best nights out you could imagine. There are street bands play in the Plaza de Espa帽a in Santa Cruz and decorated floats parade the streets. Basically it's an excuse to go out on the p*ss all night dressed up! If you love salsa music you'll love carnival. After the main carnival in Santa Cruz, it moves on to different towns. I live in the south so the main one here is in Los Cristianos but its nothing compared to the one in Santa Cruz. Every year there is a theme, if I remember rightly, this year was Medieval but next years theme hasn't been announced yet! Check back nearer the time and I'll let you know what the theme is!! Ive never been there but carnival in Spain is in February. This question is in "Andalucia" section: Puerto de le Crux is in Tenerife - several hundred miles away! Same time of year as the one in Brazil (ends on Mardi Gras) usually in late february or early march. hi, |
