Is duluth, ga a good place to raise children?

I would stay away from Gwinnett. Lived here all my life and it's progressively become worse and worse. Especially stay away from Gwinnett place mall. If you have to move here I would send you more towards the Buford side. I mean don't get me wrong I've lived here forever but know it seems like crime and gangs have slowly been coming into the area. A Chinese restaurant was robbed just a few months ago and someone was killed. In my neighborhood about every other house has been robbed in the last year. Scary stuff, I hate going to the grocery store at night by myself because of the demographic of the area and the news that I hear. Sorry to write so much, I just feel passionate about this.

Yes it is, especially zip code 30097. Some of the eastern part of Duluth which come under Duluth unincorporated are getting a little rough, but generally Duluth is nice and has one of the best neighborhoods in Metro Atlanta, especially zip code 30097.

Suwanee just to the northeast is also nice, great schools and parks.

If you want to look at Gwinnett, I would look a bit further northeast. Duluth is decent right now, but it is progressively becoming more and more like South Gwinnett, which is NOT a good thing. Buford and Suwanee are still good areas, and will probably remain so for a good while longer. Hamilton Mill is even better, but be prepared for traffic problems anywhere is N. Gwinnett.

I like Suwanee because it seems very family-oriented and has a really cool new town center and a greenway for recreation. Buford is nice because of the Mall of Georgia (if you can stand to sit in the traffic on Buford Dr.)

Duluth has some of Gwinnett's worst traffic problems, crooked cops bent on taking your money for minor traffic violations, and many rough neighborhoods (Gwinnett Place Mall is not getting better).
