Where can I go in Auckland to see a live Kiwi bird?

Definitely Auckland Zoo in the Kiwi House. Be prepared to spend quite a few minutes in there. Because Kiwi are nocturnal birds the Kiwi house is kept quite dark and you eyes will take some time to get adjusted. They can be difficult to spot as well - but definitely there.

Auckland Zoo would be a good place to visit.It will have a Kiwi House. As they are nocturnal birds and protected a zoo is the best place.

Why would you want to go to Auckland? The rest of New Zealand is much better. I could take you there if you like.

Hi,I know there are pleanty of Kiwi Birds in Auckland. Head for the park and late in the afternoon you will see them flying back to there nest in the trees.

Non residents of NZ don't generally know this as New Zealanders like to keep it secret. But, most people in the suburbs of Auckland have a pet kiwi or two in their back yards. The make wonderful pets but their call can get a bit noisy in the mating season.
Just ask anyone in Auckland who lives in a suburb and see if they will let you see their pet kiwi.
