How much is it, approx, to buy a sim card for my UK mobile when I go to NZ? Whats the cost of calls & texts?

You can buy very very cheap phonecards there which you can use for international calls. It costs about 2p per minute calling the UK from NZ with one of these phone cards.

Check with your network provider if you'd be able to use roaming while you were there- it will say on their website.

You can only buy a vodafone sim card (because telecom, the other operator doesn麓t have that tecnollogy yet) and it麓ll cost you about 35 nz dollars. About calls in prepaid it cost about 1.39 (locals) & 1.99 (international) per min and text costs 20 cents (locals) & 30 cents (internationals). You can also buy a pack of 2000 text for 10 dollars and you can choose a mate and pay 6 dolars and get free text and callings 24/7

When i was in Auckland about a year ago i just bought a cheap nokia to use out there. You can get one for about $60-$80 which is only about 拢20 - 拢30.

Have a good trip, be sure to check out Piha beach - amazing black volcanic sand, very secluded too so you can relax!
