Is there any good cheap colleges in austin, texas?

Also wut can a young person do in austin, texas? is there any hip hop scene in austin? And i want to kno where are good places to live in austin that are affordable and closeo to downtown? convient to places, etc.

There's Austin Community College. I went there myself. It's very cheap. It has an enrollment of over 30,000 spread out over 7 campuses around town (Rio Grande, Riverside, Eastview, South Austin, Northridge, Pinnacle, and Cypress Creek). They also have a "campus" of some sorts in Round Rock that they share with Texas State University as well as some classes in area high schools during school and after hours. They also have distance learning, where you learn at home and take the tests at the school. The website is http://www.austincc.edu

I can't help you with the other questions.... Sorry.

EDIT-- As for the answer below me about UT being affordable.... That's arguable especially compared to ACC. At UT, you can look at spending a couple thousand dollars per semester. At ACC, where it is like $49 per credit hour, you can pay much much less. So at ACC, you can take a full load and walk away paying less than $1,000. I know UT was not in my price range.

Btw, that <$1000 figure was per semester. Report It

ACC (Austin Comm. College) is probably your best bet - it's affordable and it's got a good reputation. The most affordable area to live that is the closest to downtown is East Austin. Other than that, you'll have to go further North or South of downtown to find stuff that's more affordable. You might like the east side if you are into the hip hop scene, especially.
I don't know too much about the hip hop scene, but there is a local scene and a lot of people tour through here as well (Ghostface, Slick Rick, Del, Method Man and some others have all been here in the past month or so). SXSW always has some hip hop shows in March as well.

Don't forget that if you're a Texas resident, UT is a one of the top schools in the nation and is very affordable for in state residents. If you're in the top 10 percent of your class, you get in automatically.
