where can i go to find a kitten in austin tx? do i just go to the pound? You can find kittens at the city pound or the humane society on W Anderson Lane, a very progressive animal shelter where they give you a thorough background check and a room where you get to visit with the animal you want to adopt on several occasions. This way they can observe how you and the pet interact. Actually it is a very neat place and run by real great people who really care about the animals they place. They are real picky, in a good way, about who gets their animals. Or if you want different animals, you can go to the Austin Zoo. spca or local animal shelter Town Lake Animals Shelter, http://austin.craigslist.org/pet/ and most PetCos and Petsmarts have adoption days on the weekends. What kind of animal and why do you want one? You cannot just go pick one up you do have to apply and be accepted to adopt. There are all types rescues, many breed specific, in the Austin area that have numerous animals in need of good homes. craig's list, animal shelter, aspca.
