What area of austin??

We are looking to move to austin...what part is growing right now? We have young children so want good schools, and newer homes, but still the austin feel...any suggestions?

If you want the real Austin feel - south Austin - Travis Heights has the best schools and all within walking distance. Park with pool open year round right in the middle of Travis Heights area; high school, jr high and elementary all within a mile or less of each other and the park/pool. Great older homes and a quaint neighborhood right near Congress Ave and the SoCo district.

If you can afford it, go Southwest. Lots of developments and very nice. North is growing rapidly too, but has a little less 'Austin' feel. Round Rock is a really nice north suburb, rapidly growing too. Although I recommend Southwest, most jobs are North, and traffic here is horrible. You might want to take that into consideration. Basically, avoid all East, and North-Central at all costs.

Cedar Park is a suburb just on the Northwest side of austin. Great place! Great schools, low crime rate and not the fast hub of the austin traffic.

go to circle c neighborhoods, they are affordable, and there are very good schools, and it is also a good place for kids. most of the place is on west Slaughter Ln
