Austin vs. Minneapolis?

Which city would you rather live in:

Minneapolis, Minnesota or Austin, Texas

and why?

I lived in both a number of years. I like Austin better but MPLS is nice as well. In my opinion, Austin has better weather, much more of a fun city, lots of year round outdoor activities, clean city & much more natural, traffic congested but not as much as MPLS. Oh, and Austin has a much lower cost of living as housing is much more affordable.

Austin Texas. I love Minneapolis but I hate the snow and cold. I have always thought Austin would be a cool place to live with all the art and music.

wow two great cities. I live in Madison and have visited Minneapolis a few times. One thing I want to point out is that the traffic in Austin is crazy. It's that kind of kill or be killed attitude at every traffic light. Whereas Minneapolis has the friendliest drivers of anywhere! and people in Minneapolis are friendly and sophisticated. I have always been under that impression. you have the mall of America real close there in that neighboring city.. forget the name right now... but my aunt and uncle work at Minneapolis airport and love it. they also live in a suburb there. I'm sure you couldn't go wrong. the real question might be the job market, but it must be you already have a job lined up in either?

I personally want to go to Austin cause i hate cold and snow. but Minneapolis I think is a lovely city and if cold and snow i would go there, definitely. All the while though, Austin is insanely hot in summer time, and the cockroaches are incredible

I would choose Austin. I like MPLS but it doesnt stand out. Austin really doesnt either except for maybe its night life. I honestly am not a fan of Texas so maybe if Mpls was warmer I would choose it.

Austin for sure!! Too damn cold in Minneapolis!!! Can't take the cold!!

Minneapolis - we actually have 4 distinct seasons here, unlike Texas!

Austin wins for me. I don't like the cold! We have awesome nightlife and there is always something fun going on in the city.
