Is Austin Texas in tornadoes alley or in the path of hurricanes?

Is Austin Texas in tornadoes alley or in the path of hurricanes?

Austin is too far inland to be affected by hurricanes with exception of maybe heavy rain. Tornado alley starts North of Austin around the Dallas area

No, Austin is not in Tornado Alley. Tornadoes have occurred in the past...but, it is VERY rare. The landscape and geographical location are not ideal environments for the formation of tornadoes.

Austin is several hours inland...so, hurricanes are not too much of an issue. However, when particularly big hurricanes have hit the Texas coast and been on the right trajectory....they have caused some pretty wild and violent storms in Austin. Though, nothing like the force it would be on the coast.

The biggest weather problem that Austin can face is generally
flooding with many creeks and rivers running through the city.

Hope this helps!
