Hotel in Austin for under $150?

for 2 adults for a Sunday night for a little getaway.

Here is my top recommendation for a funky and fun Austin experience.

Stay at the Austin Motel on South Congress. It is an old motor lodge that is being fixed up, room by room. Every room is totally unique and different(and often themed). They are funky and it has a pool and nice landscaping. You can park right outside of your room. The rooms start at $75 and you have MANY to choose from.

You are also on hip South Congress...walkable to many terrific restaurants, great shopping and antique stores, and some cool music venues. You are also walkable or a five minute drive to town lake and downtown Austin. You can't ask for a better deal or better location!

If you want something nicer, right down the street is Hotel San Jose...very nice and modern..very L.A. with a great outdoor bar and small pool. The rooms start at around $160, unless you don't mind sharing a bathroom(European style) then you can get a nice room for $105. On a Sunday night there might not even be someone to share it with!

Good luck! Hope this helps. Here are the websites for the two hotels:

The first guy had great suggestions, I love boutique hotels and B&Bs, especially for a getaway. In addition to those two, also check out the Woodburn House, a great B&B located in the Hyde Park area. www.woodburnhouse.com.

Another good one that I really liked is Star of Texas Inn, near downtown. http://staroftexasinn.com.

These two are both reasonably priced, in great locations and have fantastic breakfast!
