Question Details: In Texas I have been drilled that over-confidence and pride is the key to success I think different because pride is one of the seven deadly sins and also the vanity is a sin, and also the devil had the most pride thinkning he could defeat Satan, he is in hell and he will never be forgiven. Micheal had a chain around his neck, Jesus the only son of God resisted his temptations with humbleness and prayer and the lion of the tribe of Judah is going to do the finishing blow and only Jesus knows when that times is. It may be a wise warning to tell Texas Prideful people to swallow their pride before someone swallows it for them..that is from a song called lean on me "Free Mr. Clark!!!!>"

Hmmmm are you saying Texans are prideful? Ever think about it this way -- pride is not a sin when it is justifiable! Would you tell a mother who had just witnessed her child participate in,say, a piano recital, that she should not be proud of her child? Well..... most of us folks in Texas are proud of our state and state of mind because we are down to earth and enjoy our life here in the Lone Star State. And yes we will fight for our right to maintain it.

so what does apologizing, being prideful in Texas and Mr. Clark have to do with Austin? and have you ever been to Texas? we're not any more over-confident than anyone from any other state. yes, we take pride in our state, but also our country. how is that any different than someone from Nebraska taking pride in the USA? who told you that over-confidence is the key to success? maybe they meant being ambitious - that'd be a bit more fitting. and also, where did you get your bible information from? it's quite skewed. was it from the same person who told you Texans are over-confident? perhaps you shouldn't make judgments and give false accusations on a group of people you haven't met.
