Are there any ways to buy tickets to individual shows during Austin TXs SXSW?

The all venue inclusive armbands are ridiculously expensive.

Not any more. However, some of the bands that come down for SXSW will book additional shows in town while they are here (they do the same during the ACL festival).

I am telling you, not many locals go to SXSW any more. They really have set it up to target tourists, and I am afraid they are doing the same with ACL.

Still, if you've got the time and the money, you should go and enjoy it.

But you can see lots of after shows by SXSW artists in local venues like Stubbs BBQ, and Antones--and lots of other artists who aren't on the formal SXSW bill play around town.

It is a really great time to be in Austin--music is everywhere! So, unless you have bands playing in SXSW that you absolutely can't miss--just come to Austin and hang out during that time--pick up a couple sets of tickets for shows around town--and enjoy the whole scene.
