Location of shopping malls within Austin texas?

Location of shopping malls within Austin texas?

Guys, technically, Lakeline isn't "within" Austin, it's in Cedar Park...

and don't forget the newest entrant...The Domain at MoPac and Duval, with it's fancy Neiman-Marcus...first one in Austin...

There is one on 620 and 183 , lakeline mall ................god i hate that place

There is lots of shopping in Austin and several shopping malls. Here are the four that come to mind:
Barton Creek Mall
The Arboretum
Highland Mall
Lakeline Mall

The two that I would recommend, in terms of best overall experience, are Barton Creek Mall and The Arboretum. Barton Creek Mall is very accessible. It is right off of Mopac at 360N. It is a typical indoor mall, but, a little nicer than the others and has a ton of store options. Just about any store that you are looking for should be there. It has a Dillards, Macy's, Sears, J.C. Penny's and Nordstrom's as well. There are several decent restaurants and a day spa. Plus the view from the parking lot is beautiful...overlooking all of downtown Austin.

The arboretum is an outdoor upscale shopping center up north off of 1-83 and 360. I love it, but, it is mostly nicer shops. So, that has to be what you are looking for. It also has a Saks 5th Avenue.

Highland Mall used to be the "good" mall, but, is now a little run down and seedy. It is a typical indoor mall and has a lot of stores, but it is not as good or nice as Barton Creek.

Lakeline Mall is a decent mall, but, it is extremely far north. So, unless you live up there or don't mind driving for quite awhile, then skip it.

Hope this helps! Happy shopping!

The best is Barton Creek Mall located in south Austin off of highway 360 (near the intersection of Mopac/Loop 1).

Good luck!

There is also the new Hill Country Galleria on hwy 71 in Bee Cave...it's not Austin proper, but is gorgeous. It is an outdoor mall with main street, parking, movie theater and plenty of interesting shops.

Good luck!
;)

There are a couple good malls in Austin:

Barton Creek- 360 @ Mopac (Southwest Austin)
Highland Mall- I-35 & 290 (North Central)

But for a more "Austin" shopping experience also keep in mind:

South Congress- a blend of funky boutiques & re-sale shops. Also, on the first Thursday of every month there are street fairs.

Lamar @ 6th- Plenty of Austin owned & operated places like Book People & Whole Foods and trendy fashion spots like Emeralds, By George & Anthropologie.

"The Drag" (Guadalupe @ the UT Campus)- Bustling with students most weekdays, the Drag offers ideal shopping on the weekends. Pickup Longhorn gear at the Co-op or check out Tylers, Urban Outfitters & Intellectual Property. Also a great place to people watch & grab a cheap bite to eat.

Enjoy!
