Camp Counseling Jobs in Austin Texas?

I'm thinking about trying out for camp counselor this summer. Any good summer camps in Austin?

your welcome.

Well, there aren't many camps in the city of Austin...unless you mean a type of special "day camp". I do know that you can be a day counselor at The Austin Nature and Science Center in Zilker Park or you could help out with summer classes at Laguna Gloria on Lake Austin, which has tons of art classes...some fun ones like jewelry making, sculpture making. There is also Austin Sunshine Camp and Child Craft Summer Camp.

But, if you are looking for a real deal camp counselor experience, try some of the 2-4 week long camps outside of Austin. There is Camp Longhorn(with its famous swimming blob) in nearby Burnet, Texas. Then there are tons of great camps in the Hill Country near Hunt, Texas, along the Guadalupe River. This is a really beautiful spot with well run camps. There are boy camps and girl camps. Mystic is the girl's camp where I went, so I am partial. But, there is also Arrowhead, Camp Stewert, Rio Vista, Heart o'The Hils, and Waldemar. Those are the big ones.

I hope this helps! I have great memories of summer camp and the camp counselors that I have had are a big part of those memories!

Yes, there are a lot of camps in and around Austin.

Here is a listing of the ones that I know:

Marbridge Summer Camp
Austin Parks and Rec Department
Camp C.A.M.P.

Good luck and happy camping!
