Hi, my husband got a job in austin, texas and we are from malaysia. how is the living cost for a family if 6? Housing is cheap in Austin compared to many other parts of the country. You can find houses in all prices ranges. Because of the traffic, I'd advise that you try to live close to work. There are also a number of surrounding towns to live that might work out better for you - depends on where work is. I lived in Austin for 30 years; it's a great place to be, with such an interesting air. The winters tend to be mild, the summers hot and kind of humid. It's expensive to keep your house cooled in the summer. I moved to a small town in Oregon, on the coast, where we have mild winters and seldom have to use the air conditioner in the summer. You could go on-line to check out housing prices. Have fun in Texas! |
