Which do you prefer: NYC or Austin, TX? Why?

Traffic in NYC is horrible and so are the prices there. However, NYC has facilities and luxuries not found in Austin nor any other place in America...

So, which of the two would you prefer to live in? Please explain...

Hmm. This is an apples / oranges kind of question--because they are such vastly different cities, it really depends on the type of person you are.

I live in Austin because it is laid back, hip, there area ton of outdoor activities, it's got an amazing live music scene, the cost of living is excellent, and the weather is great.

New York does have great theater, great museums, world class restaurants, shopping, and all that jazz---but I could go there to visit and enjoy those, too.

If I have to live somewhere every day, I'll pick Austin--not because it's "better", but because it suits my personality and lifestyle more than NYC.

NYC, I am not the southern type of person. NYC is expensive, but is a better place to live!

I've never been to Austin,Tx,but I was born and raised in NYC. It was an amazing place to grow up. However, I now live in the South and I like it much better. It's quieter, less traffic (most times) and it's less crowded and the air smells cleaner.

Austin - very unique city. Nice mix of big city, urban attitude with small town friendly country feel. Great weather. What luxuries are you talking about? There's nothing in NYC that you can't find in Austin. NYC too expensive, crowded and inconvenient. Nice to visit which I have but wouldn't live there.

I never been to NYC before but i heard that it's always busy , and busy places mean that you can't get air to breath or walk properly without stepping on someone...so i would say Austin.
Best wishes!
