What are the top 5 things to do in Austin, TX?

See the bats emerge from their roost under Congress Street bridge.

The Texas Capitol
6th street
Walk around UT campus
Lake Austin and Barton Springs

6th street

1. A night on 6th street
2. A Longhorn football game
3. Amy's ice cream
4. The Congress Bridge with all the bats
5. Shopping at the Arboretum

Vote Republican! Oh wait, that's in Round Rock.

EDIT: Judging by the things others have mentioned, Austin seems pretty tame and lame.

1. See a live music show
2. Mount Bonnell, especially at sunset
3. 4th or 6th Street (depending upon your scene) bar-/club-hopping
4. Zilker Park/Barton Springs
5. Visit the big Whole Foods on Lamar

If you're willing to drive a bit out of town, Pedernales Falls and Enchanted Rock are both amazing places.

In no particular order:

1. Walk around Town/Ladybird Lake
2. Eat at one of our many fine local/ma & pa dining establishments (especially regional cuisine like BBQ or Mexican)
3. Catch a concert/show at Stubbs, Emo's, Antones, or The Backyard.
4. Browse/window shop on The Drag (Guadalupe) and South Congress
5. Take in an area attraction like the Bats on Congress, the Bob Bullock Museum, a Longhorn sporting event, etc.

Enjoy your visit!
