Any tornados in austin?

do you guys, or shall i say y'all have any tornados in austin?

OH YES! I happened to be coming home from work and drove over IH-35 and actually saw it coming from the South. It went right over me - I could not see a thing the torrents of rain and wind as it went over. I didn't know if I was on a road or anything. It was scary! Then another one hit the old airport and tore apart the hangar where the small private planes are kept. But not many really. It is pretty safe here.

yes, there can be tornados in Austin, but not everyone says y'all... :) Usually tornados are on the outskirts, but I have seen them before.

Austin is actually just south of tornado alley, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't have its fair share of severe thunderstorms, flooding, and tornado warnings.

The last tornado in the area hit the small community of Jarrell which is about 45 minutes north of Austin.

Yes, one actually happened a couple of years ago in South Austin and it passed right down William Cannon Dr. Tore up a trailer park in SE Austin and ripped a few trees up by the roots.

So to answer your question..yes. They do happen in Austin.

Yes, but not as often as in Dallas or the pan handle. We get more flooding and hail/thunder storms.
