Bastrop Tx any info you can give me? housing? fun places? anything?

Hello I am planning to work and live at Bastrop Tx (20 min from Austin Tx) can you give me any info regarding Bastrop Tx, places to visit, restaurants, hotels, workplaces, any info will be usefull, thanks and best regards.

My sister lives in Bastrop. There isn't a whole helluva lot to do there. Most people go to Austin for that. As far as housing, it depends on your budget. Colovista, Tahitian Village, Lake Bastrop Acres, there are also a few apartment complexes. Living around downtown is nice too. Lots of old houses that are redone. Bastrop is a nice small town that is growing rapidly! New shopping centers, grocery stores, restaurants. Try Daddy's Grill or Mama Mia. Both owned by the same person and are fantastic! They serve anything from Mediterranean to Italian and I have never tasted an alfredo sauce like the one at Mama Mia!

I work in bastrop but live in austin. bastrop is a typical small town. There is the state park that is fun, if you are in to out doorsy stuff. Also main street is trying to attract more visitors. There are not many good local restaurants. I would suggest Maxine's on Main or Big Mouth Bar and Grill..both are decent. Scootere is a fun little coffee house and is preferred by the locals over starbucks....there are six nice golf courses in the area also, if you golf....email me at Jakethedog1975@yahoo.com if you have any other questions.
