Is there any pride day in Germany ? When is it ? Where the LGBT places?

Is there any pride day in Germany ? When is it ? Where the LGBT places?

Pretty much every major German city has some sort of gay pride event. Berlin is the largest festival, followed by Hamburg and Cologne.

Most hold them in the traditional month of June. Though some (like Munich) have their gay events coincide with larger events such as Octoberfest to attract more tourists.

Though as elsewhere the situation is not as progressive in rural areas (especially in Bavaria and the East)... in general, homosexuality is more likely to induce a yawn than any scandalous interest in Germany nowadays. For some 2/3 of the population, it's simply a non-issue.

There's been an equal age of consent since 1994. Scandinavian style Civil Unions were introduced in 2001 (with adoption rights since 2004). Gays serve in the military, and have been allowed to become officers since 2000. Chancellor Merkel recently announced more anti-discrimination laws at the federal level as well, which will protect gays from everyday annoyances like being refused a double-bed in hotels. If it goes according to the timetable she laid out, it will become law by August of this year at the latest.
