I am traveling to the world cup with my 7 year old son, I am worried if he gets lost! any ideas of ID tags? |
any additional comments or ideas are welcome.... Give him a cell phone or a walkie-talkie so you both can contact each other in case something like that happens. Also put ID tags on his backpack and wrist showing all your information like Home Address, Telephone Number, Name, Hotel, etc. If you do all of these, I think there's nothing else to worry about. Just keep in eye contact with your child as much as possible and you'll be fine. hold his hand all the time you are out of your room No offense, but you're crazy. I would buy a world phone for him and keep it on a chain around his neck with complete ID and your cell phone number. Just hold his hand and keep him close to you. If you go to most area Walgreens or CVS Stores, they will take his picture, and apply it to an ID card which you can put on a string around his neck. You can put important contact #'s etc. on it. He is 7, he is not a baby. Keep him close to you and tell him not to walk off. Sure, just go to any local store and pick up one of those plastic ID holders that he can wear around his neck, so if he gets lost, any adult will be able to see his name, your name, and a phone number to call (address?)...but more importantly than that, you need to have a talk with your son so that HE knows what to do if he should lose you!!! Try a henna tattoo with your name and mobile phone number - it will wash off eventually but not while you are there. get one of those leashes for children, that should work fine, and it extends just a little bit, or how much you want while you watch him..... some parents have tatooed their kids to prove ID... not my choice, but they do it.. I like the cell phone idea... they have then now that use can use a walkie talkies if you get seperate you can have a meeting area and call each other to meet there a lot of big events offer kid tags but whatever you decide make sure no one can see it. like when kids put thier names on the outside of teir book bag then every one knows tier name! not a good idea! make sure he knows your cell phone you could also get him a cheap 20$ cell phone with your number programmed in it. also you can make a designated spot for him to go if he gets lost! and show him who the empolyees are so he knows who to go to in case of emergency! If you're thinking an ID card or tag is going to prevent the loss of your child then you probably shouldn't take him with you. It seems that the World Cup is probably going to be your focus and your child secondary. Your question should have been, "How do I find the time to really enjoy the World Cup without ignoring my child and worse yet losing my child?" Find a trusted friend or nanny and take that person with you to help you watch your child if you don't think you'll be able to do it alone. Get him a walkie talkie. Also, get one of those write leashes, they work great in crowded areas. Make him wear a custom t shirt that says If lost please call this number. Also put him in a color that is easy to find like orange, pink, yellow. Also take a recent picture with you of him. Make sure your by his side throughout everything. leave him at home and take me instead! :-) Go to your local animal vet and ask them to chip your son. They do this to pets all the time to keep track of them if they get lost, it would be perfect for your kid. Also you could just keep you kid away from crazy soccer hooligans. Put a tag on him (in a wallet or something) with his name and your contact. Two contacts is maybe better, in case one of them doesn't work, and the name and address of the hotel you're staying in. my mom did this: hand leash. It attaches to both your hands and it makes it easier for you to pay attention when he tries to wonder off somewhere. |
