What do i need to make U.S. electric devices work in Europe? Europe is 220 volts...and differnt pins for each country...get a transformer ( step down transformer from 220 to 110 ) and a travel convertor ( having all types of pins ) All airports sell this plus the Wallmarts etc Thanks Report It Thanks Report It Actually, the plugs are compatible throughout most of continental Europe. England is different, though. Report It All the Travel Stores have the concersion kits. you need an outlet adapter that fits onto your plug. It's pretty simple and cheap, actually, to get. It just fits on the end of your plug and into the socket, and everything should work fine. You can use a round pin plug adapter. You need a transformer to transform the electric from 110V to 220V All you need is a formated converter. You can get at say, Wal-mart. I believe they have one of those in Frankfurt, Germany as well. Good Luck. You will need both, a transformer 220 to 110 Volts and adapters for the EU. Try to buy it before travelling because they are difficult to find them in Europe. You will probably need a convertor to convert from US voltage to European voltage; however, lots of modern appliances (i.e. hairdryers) have a voltage switch built in that you can just switch over. You will definitely need an adapter to make US plugs fit into European outlets, you'll probably want to get a variety pack depending on where you're going, I'm pretty sure that, for example, the UK has a different type of plug than contenintal Europe...I'd just look on the box, it should say where the adapter will work. You have to keep in mind two aspects: |
