Is grand Turks part of the Bahamas islands? |
Is grand Turks part of the Bahamas islands? Grand Turks aren't apart of the Bahamas, but one long time ago it was suppose to be so but the governer back then didn't wanted to own the island. 70% of the People on Grand Bahama Island is from Turks Island, I myself grew up on Grand Bahama and I am hearing that Grand Turks is whats happening now I believe it is. I don't think so - it is south of the Bahamas. I am pretty sure it has it's own government. Geographically it may be part of the same island cluster, but it is not the same. I found this link to a Wikipedia article which suggests that it is near the Bahamas. Actually, yes they are the southern part of the Bahamas. Everything east of them is considered the Atlantic & west of them is considered the Caribbean. Some people consider these the entrance to the Caribbean. Actually, it's a technical issue but if you look on a map the Bahamas extend south right into the Turks. Nope but very close Check the map and info below. No they are not part of the Bahamas. They are currently under the British overseas territory. Back in the mid 1800 they tried to make them part of the Bahamas but that failed. |
