Is Bahrain a Safe Place to Visit?

I may be going to Bahrain in October for 6 weeks working as a musician in a hotel. Has anyone been to Bahrain? If so, any pointers on the culture and environment?

I live in bahrain. It''s pretty much normal...I can wear basically whatever i want, except clothes that reveal too much e.g wearing a bikini in public. But you're allowed to at the beach and everything. You can wear anything to the mall except a really short skirt and a top that shows too much cleavage or whatever. Once my friend got kicked out of a mall for wearing clothes that were too revealing haha. Anyways Bahrains pretty modern, there are a lot of expatriates. Im sure you'll like it. It's practically the same as any other place. People overexaggerate a lot about bahrain and how strict it is, it really isn't. If you're going in october, it's cold and rainy. So bring sweaters, long sleeved tops and a light jacket.Oh and yes Bahrain is safe, iv'e lived here for seven years andnot once had a spot of bother ^^

hey i live in bahrain
yea it is safe
but hey in October its very hot and the humidity reaches high percentages i dont recommend u to bring thick clothes and wintery outfits. Report It

My son says it was fun...he didn't get into details..but it was safe.

Yes, Bahrain is very safe. You will have a great time. There are a few cultural things that are considered rude, but they cut Westerners some slack. When you get there you'll be informed, for example it's considered rude to some things, nothing major. The people are friendly, you'll have a really good time. Weather = Hot. Do some reading before you go. Some of the Gulf countries have amazing beaches and sea life not found anywhere else.

Yes it is very safe that is where the American Embassy is located.

I've been to Bahrain - my boyfriend worked there for three months last year (from the UK). He never had any problems, nor did I when I was there.

It wasn't the most exciting place I have ever visited - its good for a cheaper than usual beach resort, and I suppose shopping.

As a country it is probably quite like Dubai - a lot of money around (but also poverty), very hot, a lot of western expats (and also bars, restaurants etc to cater for them). It has a bit of western influence, but not too much.
