Is there any time restriction for work at construction site in Bahrain?

I will be based in Bahrain for a bridge project. Is there any time restriction working in Bahrain? As an addition Ramadhan is just a few months ahead, is there any special time during fasting month?

When working in Bahrain, the Ministy of Labour is very strict of a miximum of 8 working hours per day. No organization can make its employees work more, unless they get over-time payment. Also, there was a new policy released a couple of months ago, restricting construction companies and other companies that have laborers working outdoors to give all workers a bread from 12 noon to 4pm. The reason for that is the excessive heat in this period of time. This may mean that workers will have to work till late, but at least avoid direct heat from the sun. In Ramadhan, the maximum working hours are 6 hours per day. All organizations are restricted by this, as employees are assumed to be fasting and 8 hours is a bit too much for a fasting person.

There are certain restrictions I am not aware of, you will have to contact the official party for such information. Whether there are restrictions related to Ramadan or not.. I am not sure, but I do believe there are.

However, they are working on approving a law that puts more restrictions on construction sites working hours and so on, it has not been approved yet, but they are working on it.

I read it in the newspaper yesterday or the day before.

Note (restricting construction companies and other companies that have laborers working outdoors to give all workers a bread from 12 noon to 4pm) has not been approved yet.

It is a law that will be approved, but has not yet. Check the papers and you'll know.

you must also be aware that labour laws in Bahrain are ignored pretty much when it comes to foreign labor....foreign labourers often get treated as no better than slaves...are forced to work far beyond the 8 hours...often dont get overtime....quite often dont get paid period for months at a time....sometimes even kept locked up over nite and over the weekend so they dont escape or just leave to better employment. Nothing much is done about the employers who treat employees like this except to send the upset employee back home...usually without all the money he or she is due.

i suggest you make sure the company you are coming to work for doesnt have a history of duping its employees and cheating them in anyway....forwarned is forearmed. good luck
