What to do in Bahrain?

i am going to Manama, Bahrain next month and wondering what there is to see. I am going to visit my husband who will be working for most of my stay. He told be about a bunch of malls and Gold city but is there anything else beside shopping?

One thing not to do? DON'T GO TOT HE TREE OF LIFE!
its such a disappointment! :(

What to do:
Old Souks, gold and otherwise
Ritz Hotel Spa
Ritz Hotel Beach
Traders Viks restaurant at the Ritz
Burial Mounds
Museums
Seif Mall - People Watching especially during weekends when al the Saudis are there.
Dinner at most restaurants in Adliyaa District

hi there. I used to live there, so here is my take. there is quite a bit of shopping. There are also many good restaraunts to go to. The friday brunch at Krumz Bistro is quite good. Outside of shopping and food, there is the museum, the Tree of Life, the burial mounds, and the forts. As for the shopping, it is a good place to get custom tailored clothes made for a very good price. Have fun while you are there, and if you go to Krumz, tell Rod that Ron says hi.

Nothing really

heya well i live here currently or for every 6 months or so then retreat back to Dubai

Funland is a great place to go bowling or ice/skating, its not the best but its definitely somewhere to go with friends to fill up the time and escape the heat. Seef Mall is definetly the most popular mall at the moment and there are quite a bit of cinemas here. The Ritz offers some very good spa treatments/ great beach to stroll around on however can prove to be expensive if you don't have a membership.
Great restaurants to visit, especially the buffet at the Movenpick, great selection, and well there's really quite a few sights, nothing special and i havn't really heard of tours around here. However, there are some great courses you can enroll in such as yoga, cooking, basicaly anything that's done at the comfort of your home

gd luck!

I've visited my husband twice during his one year stay in Manama. We didn't do much besides going shopping at the souk and the malls. It's quite irritating to visit the souk because everyone wants you to come in their store and buy stuff..even when you say no they try to persuade you. The malls are nice you find a lot of designer clothes and like others said you can get clothes tailor made.
Make sure you visit Al Bander resort, this is a nice place to relax. There is a pool and even some beach where you can catch some sun.
Don't bother going to Al Jazeer beach because it is very dirty there.
Another nice place to go is the mosque, it is very beautiful. As everyone else said, make sure you don't wear clothes that are too revealing and you will be OK.
The food there is delicious, I've gained about 5lbs there...lol
The weather should be cooling down, my husband said that when he got there in December last year it rained a lot and they had quite a few floods.

Eat the best food is there

If you are a young person there is nothing to do there like in the west....few malls but how many times can you go to a mall.

hang out in seef mall...funland is a gr8 place for bowling nd iceskating...visit the silver rally circuit for some go-karting...........
