Hi, I'm from Chennai, i got a offer from Ministry of Municipalities in the pay of 780BD(Includes all). It is enough to run family(Me & Wife) in bahrain. My wife has completed B.Ed. Is any chance to get job there. Can any one tell me about this Government job..Any advantages and disadvantages ?Please tell how much money i can save and spend?
I dont have any idea about overseas govt. jobs?
What about medical treatement in baharin>?
please give briefly by cost wise like Accommodation, food, electricity, house hold items to buy and savings.
Thankyou in advance..

Josh,

The amount would be enough for you and your wife as a starter. Life in Bahrain is not that fast comapred to UAE and Qatar and is enjoying a much better inflation percentage than that of the two other GCC Countries.

I suggest that you live in a shared 2 bedroom Flat where you and your wife will live with other family. Cost shall be around 200/m. Food and Transport shall be another 200/m. Misc. should be maximum of 100/m and you will find that you still have something to save.

Besides, your wife will surely find a job in any school or day care centers in Bahrain being a BSEd. graduate. It will be an additional income and savings for you.

As what I always say to people who will try the Gulf, it's not how big your salary is - it's how small your expenses are and how you manage it that counts !!!

Welcome to Bahrain... another country full of opportunities !!!

780 is more than enough, u can rent a small flat near to work for about 150-200 (not shared!!)
medical treatment isnt so great if u dont have insurance, which isnt so expensive either but that is sumthing i think u should consider, as u might have kids ;)
if ur wife works, her salart would probably cover your rent municipalities (gas, water & electricity)
food is cheap.. with her workin, i think you can have a great and comfortable life here, saving 400BD a month :)

but make sure about the package u are gettin before u sign the contract.. check if the will give u health insurance or not? housing allowances? transport? education if u have kids in the future..
remember these are things that u need to consider b4 moving over seas!
