I am travelling to dammam from Bangalore. Can i get off at Bahrain and go by private taxi by road?

I am joining my husband at Khobar. I am travelling from Bangalore . Since direct flight is available only to Bahrain, is there possibility that i can get off at Bahrain and then travel by private taxi by road to Khobar? Also my brother stays in Dammam and he will be picking me from Bahrain. Or should i have Bahrain visa?

Of course. You can find private taxis, lemos or even buses that go to Dammam and Khobar. By the way it is only 20 minutes away. You can find these at the arrivals hall in Bahrain Airport.

Its no problem. Once you are in Bahrain Air port, inform at the counter that you have your own transport and wouldnt want the Airline transport. They charge 20 Riyals (I dont know for what) and give you a reciept. Keep the receipt with you and you can travel with your own transport. They have never asked for the receipt at the border but I guess its in the system.

I would talk to your brother first. When I lived there 5yrs ago couldnt do this not sure if its changed!

I wouldn't be too sure about getting out of Bahrain airport without a visa, especially if you are an Indian. Some nationalities are easily given a 72-hour visa (it helps if you are white). It is safer to check with your brother or the Indian embassy in Bahrain. Also be sure that your brother carries proof of his relationship to you for when you get to Saudi.
