Where to live in Bahrain? |
Im American and considering a post in Bahrain. Kids would go to Bahrain school I guess. What would be the most convienant and nicest place to live? What kind of monthly allowance would be needed for a nice Villa? thanks in advance ANY PLACE YOU LIKE,ITS A SMALL COUNTRY,ONLY 687 KM2,SO LIVE IN MANAMA(THE CAPITAL),WHERE YOU FIND EVERY THING LIKE ANYWHERE IN BAHRAIN. Since Bahrain is a small country , its doesn't makes difference on staying in the heart of city and outskirt. The most beauty is that you will get a nice , funished / semi furnished / full furnished 3 bedroom/4 bedroom individual villas @ the rate of 350 BD/400 BD/450 BD. Getting a villa is not that much difficult. You will get it ease. (BD - Bahrain Dhinars) there are loads of places to choose from...adliya and juffair is close to town but kinda expensive...its cheap to live in manama but always crowded...... Bahrain is a great place for your family will love it. Our family lived there for 3yrs 5yrs ago - USN. Juffair if you want to be close to the alot of Americans, near the base, Manama also has alot of Americans/Europeans and is only about 5 mins away. The further out you go (from Juffair) the cheaper your accommodation) don't rent a place until you get out there, you should meet your landlord first some of them are abit dodgy! Juffair is a safe and quiet place, and Bahrain School is in Juffair too. There is a supermarket there, and lots of restaurants and cafes as well as the American base. Most Americans,Canadians, specially British live in Saar or Juffair...well most Americans live in Juffain...since Bahrain school is close to Juffair so I recommend you to live in Juffair ohh yeah and the American Navy Base is there...so that's y most Americans live there!!!:p What do you mean with CONVENIENT? Some people love crowded areas like the City Center, and the best area would be the capital city of Manama (especially Juffair and Seef District). As for quiet areas, then there is East Riffa, Sanad & Saar. |
