I am frm india, will visitBasel,Switzerland soon. How is the weather there. Is it too cold or moderate ?

I am from india, and will visit Basel, Switzerland in the mid of Feb. How is the weather there, is it too cold or moderate ? Do i need to get warm clothes, how is the food there, do you get Veg food there. Is the place expensive.

Namaste. Why don't you check the weather on the internet. You can get up to date information. The weather, as you are talking that you will be going in Feb, should be cold. You should bring warm clothes. But the cold weather in Switzerland is quite pleasant unlike India. And yeah you can find vegetarian food very easily. You may even find Indian restaurants there. And yeah Switzerland like every Western European country is very expensive so be prepared for that.

Have a nice trip.

much much more expensive than you are used to in india, and much much colder. (buy a good coat and gloves) and don't worry about the food, you can find anything there, and the locals are always great.

This time of the year it is winter in Switzerland, you better take warm cloths.
Sure you will get vegetarian food there.
Switzerland is not cheap, you should take enough money with you, or a credit card.

Weather is very cold, it is very hard to get veg. food from
Swiss shop but there are few Indian shops, you can buy Indian food as well. Expensive...?.....O my god !

It's pretty cold there, but there is no snow in the city, just rain (See website below to check the wheater for Basel). You need warm clothes, Jackets, good shoes, long trousers....!

You can have all different kinds of food. If you wanna by quick food for traveling, like sandwiches for cheap, then go in the Migros or Coop. You get Veg food everywhere, that should be no problem.

It's pretty expensive everywhere in Switzerland. But if you choose your Hotels whisely then you should be fine. Don't go eating in really expensive Restaurants, and choose a middle class Hotel. If you wanna be really cheap, then go into the youthhostel in Basel. I was there recently, and it's not that bad...(see website below)

Welcome, the weater is fine.
Be sure to visit St Louis across the border in France and the other french border towns as well (like Delle, Pontarlier, besancon, Belfort, Evian). Don't forget to buy a half price card for the trains and boats !
The weather was great on Sunday in Morat and Bienne !
There is a nice boat on these lakes, with live German music and dancing !!! (in the afternoon ! incredible !)
Have a great time !

the wheather will be quite cold. It could be snowy, but most likely you'll have cloudy days, maybe some rain, and definitly a lot colder than india (somewhere around 0掳C) You'll need a warm coat, perhaps boots, long pants and I'd also recommend gloves, a scarf and a hat. Switzerland is very expensive in general, so be prepared to pay a lot for "nothing special". You can get vegetarian food, though it isn't that common (thohgh it's gaining popularity). Just don't go to the typical swiss restaurants because they'll be serviing a lot of meats and food with ham in it. Don't worry though, because I'm a vegetarian living in Switzerland and I'm not starving ! ;-)
If you want to save money on food go to one of the main grocery store chains - "Migros" or "Coop" and buy some fresh bread, fruit or swiss cheese for a lot less than you'd pay in a restaurant.
Enjoy your stay!!!!

here you go :-) daily update. now it's about 0 C.. that's normal. There will be some snow, though it can get warmer (up to 15 C). Enjoy. Veg food is easy to find and very good. Life/travelling in Switzerland is very expensive.
