What is a good hotel in Augsburg, Bavaria that is close to Historic district.?

We are taking a tour from Vienna to Munich and have 3 days to look around at the end. We would like to visit Augsburg and stay in the historic district in a place that is reasonable and nearby. We are also interested in how often the trains run from there to the Munich Airport.

Hi, I stayed at the Ibis in Augsburg and found it to be fine despite usually avoiding the Ibis/Novotel type place.

It's not a big city, so you would be hard pressed to get an out of town hotel unless you tried! The trains to Augsburg were (if I recall), every 30-40 minutes - it's a commuting town for workers in Munich.
