Does Bavarian blow horn and shoot on the christmas eve to welcome the birth of the christ child?

in the alps they blow the alphorn on Christmas eve. Don't know about shooting anything on Xmas eve. But we shoot in the new Year with fireworks at midnight.

Yes I think I've seen video of the Schuetzenverrein (sharp shooters club) shooting at either X-Mas or New Years somewhere in the alps Can't tell you where/when exactly, but it might be Berchtesgaden
