Are the prices for buying a house in germany reasonable? |
Are the prices for buying a house in germany reasonable? It all depends on the area and on the age and condition of the house. For expample: a house in a small village will cost a lot less then the same house in a larger city! Why don't you take a look at this link to see for yourself: http://www.expatica.com/actual/toc.asp?s... Compared to prices in the UK and Ireland, yes! no they are not reasonable....for example is a 120 square meter house (three bedrooms and a living room) will cost about 250,000 euros......if you have to buy the ''lot'' it sits on this will cost about another 20000 euros....this is the going price in bayern right now and I live in a small town..keep in mind the exchange rate is 1euro equal $1.40.....no to me its not reasonable this is why everyone lives with their parents or rent......or inherited a house.....in a larger city or bigger town ( bigger than 3000 people) it only gets more expensive. In my view the answer is NO. I have lived here and have watched the value of the U.S dollar drop to as low as .68 cents to a Euro. If you are going by U.S money the cost of living in Germany is too high. Me, I would save my money and buy in the states. Also, I have heard from people selling a house is a very tough and prolong process. Weigh the pro's and cons and make your own choice. Good luck! |
