Need advice on where to live in Belfast?

What areas are quiet and not too expensive. I have seen a house for rent on the Greenville Road, Bloomfield, what is this area like...where should I definitely avoid.

Everywhere in Belfast is so expensive it is a scandal. Have you tried Orangefield which isn't too far from Bloomfield it is quiet and you might be able to rent. Bar that Castlereagh or Cregagh I wouldn't be fussed on Bloomfield there are nicer places quite close to there.

dont buy a house that has balaclava wearing people around,is this any help to u?

I would try Andersonstown. The people are very friedly, it is within easy reach of the town centre, has excellent community facilities and is well served with shops etc. Rental properties are reasonably priced.

Bloomfield is nice area, I would stay away from North or West Belfast as that is where most of the terrorist activity has taken place.

Don't live in the Protestant areas. The murals are scary and the people can be, too. Falls Road area and Andersontown aren't so bad. Catholic areas are getting huge improvements (so are the Protestant areas, but for the scary murals with balaclava people all over them) and the people tend to be friendlier in the Catholic areas now that the British government is making a serious effort at Catholic Economic Integration. Living near Queen's University is probably a good bet.

avoid any republican areas
they are not to be trusted
it's not that long since they were blowing people up
and general causing mayhem
likewise avoid any area with any paramilitary connections

personally I love East Belfast
and I know the area around Greenville Street
it's fine
