You do not need a passport or a visa to travel from London to either Dublin or Belfast. Although some airlines will require that you have some form of government issued photo-ID for example a drivers license or military ID.

As for Belfast, Belfast is the capital of Northern Ireland and therefore apart of the United Kingdom.

Citizens from the United Kingdom do not need a passport to travel within the United Kingdom.

Note (like I stated above), that you will need an official government issued photo-ID and you should check with the airline you are flying with to see what they accept.

I don't believe that traveling within the European Union (E.U.) countries, a passport is needed. Only if you leave the E.U. to go to a country that's not in the E.U.

London to Belfast is a domestic flight. The 2 cities are in the same nation (it says United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland on the passport!) Immigration will not require a passport, but the airline may demand it for security reasons.

Traditionally, no passport is required between the UK and Irish republic, though again most airlines now demand it (but not immigration) although if you get the ferry to Dublin travelling with no passport is still acceptable, though you may be asked for photo ID, like a driving licence.

Despite some of the comments, I can assure you that you do NOT need a passport to fly between London and Ireland / Northern Ireland or v.v.

What you do need to do, however, is have a form of "official' identification, either a passport or a full (not provisional) driving licence.

As mentioned earlier you would need some sort of photographic identification. So a passport would be good.
Arriving in any of the London airports you may get more attention than you want if your 'different'. By that I mean if your a person of colour. The security people might want to make sure you're not an illegal immigrant. Sad, but that's the way it is.
