Hotel booking?

If you go to a hotel in person to book a room in advance can you pay by cash or do you HAVE to have a credit card to book? (specifically a hilton hotel if you know about them)

Credit card is usually required as it is a safe transaction for both hotel owners and clients. Cash will get you into trouble as they will assume you're hiding your real identity.

You would be as well using a credit card its much easier.

Most hotels will accept cash, but do ensure you get a receipt.

I have booked hotel rooms by phone and not given a credit card number.

I recently booked 25 rooms at a hotel, with nothing more than a phone call and an email.
