What is there to see or do in belfast?

i'm going to belfast for the first time in April and i don't know what i can do or see in belfast. i'm 16 so i can't exactly go out drinking so please don't tell me to go out clubbing or anything like that.

Belfast has recently just added its own version of the London Eye- called "The Wheel". It's great and gives you an amazing view of the city either during the day or at night. The following link will give you an idea of opening times and prices.

If you want to go on a sightseeing tour there is a company which does an open top double decker bus tour that covers all of Belfast and is very entertaining, even for someone who lives in Belfast!

There is also a very large shopping area near the city hall where the wheel is situated.

At night in Belfast you could go to the Odyssey Arena. There is a lot of places to eat, a cinema, bowling alley, night clubs, concert hall/ice hockey arena and 3D cinema. If you check the website you may be able to book a show before you go

Like the above user said, very few places ask for ID so clubbing isnt exactly a no-go!

Hope you have a great time whatever you decide to do. Here are a few more links to help you out.

You could check this site- http://www.gotobelfast.com There's a list of "top 10 things to do". I live in Belfast and I didn't know a few of them! If you've read the Narnia books, it mentions a C.S Lewis Trail- he spent his early years in Belfast. The Ulster Folk and Transport Museum is a great place to visit- http://www.uftm.org.uk If you like shopping, the city centre has a good selection of shops and lots of nice caf茅s. Hope you enjoy your trip!

I'm from California and lived in Belfast for 5 years. The first time I went there backpacking I was 17 (and for the record you could go out clubbing/to pubs they aren't exactly strict on ID-ing lol!!!) It is one of my fav cities. There is the city hall right in the heart of the downtown and it is beautiful and there is tours given daily. You can also take black taxi tours or there is a city bus tour of the city and it takes you to all the historic points (where the titanic was made, to the "trouble"areas, which is really interesting to see, it takes you all around and the driver will tell you the history, the bus tour guys are usually pretty funny. The shopping is great and there is lots of good cafe's and restaurants. Also if you leave the city a few miles up the road is a town called Carrickfergus, and it as the best perserved castle in Europe. Then there is a coast road that goes up to the top of Ireland and is beautiful and there is castle ruins, little towns and also the giants causeway. I could go on forever, have a great trip and check out some websites on Belfast and Northern Ireland.
