Were can i get a ferry in glasgow to ireland whichever part of ireland or does any1no the best way 2 get there

i live in glasgow and want to visit ireland never been so which is the best part to visit and how to get there thanx.

Just fly from Glasgow Airport. Cost about 拢30. Only reason to take ferry is if you need your car as it's dearer & takes far longer than flying.

PS Stranraer is spelt like this.

Get a train to Stranrear. From there there are Stena Line ferries to Northern Ireland

some pretty good deals on flights from Glasgow and Prestwick airports to different parts of Ireland..Dublin is good for nightlife but Donegal is great too, It's up to you
but sometimes the flights would be even cheaper than the ferries and it takes a couple of hours to get to stranrear

There are no ferries from Glasgow to Ireland.

Ferries to Northern Ireland leave from Streanraer or Cairnryan in Wigtonshire.

From Glasgow Buchanan Street Bus Station, take the Stagecoach West Scotland express coach X77 to Ayr Bus Station. The service is every 30 minutes. From Ayr Bus Station take a 58/60/358/360 bus - but only those going to either Portpatrick or Stranraer. These leave every two hours. All journeys operate into Cairnryan port and all journeys stop at Port Rodie in Stranraer, which is by the main gates of the port.

I would recommend you stay in either Belfast or Dublin, both have good night life and plenty to see and do as well as good shopping.

Ferries leave from Cairnryan port in Scotland and come into Larne port which is about 25 miles from Belfast. Check out www.poirishsea.com for details. From Larne there are good transport links to Belfast either by bus or train - check out the journey planner at www.translink.co.uk for times and which bus/train etc to catch.
Or
Ferries leave Stranraer port and come into Belfast port. See www.stenaline.co.uk. From Belfast you can travel either by train or bus to Dublin. Again the translink website has a journey planner which will help.

I think you can travel quite cheaply as a foot passenger, and once you get here its quite easy to travel around.
