Are shops in Antwerp / Brussels open on Sundays? |
I'd like to visit at weekend, however I do not wish to only stare at the shop displays i found this out the hard way but no. shops are closed on sundays. Shops are closed on Sunday. All shops are closed on Sunday! a few shops are open on sunday morning as well, but only food and conveniance stores. On Saturday they are open. On Sunday MOST of the shops are closed. The exception are tourist souvenir shops on Meir, Keizerlei, and around the cathedral. All supermarkets are closed. But if you search enough you will encounter some mom and pop stores in the suburbs which are open in order that unsuspecting foreigners may not starve. They do a bright business although they have upped their prices a whopping 20%. Not all are closed on Sunday! |
