What airport do you fly into to get to brugge in brussels?

What airport do you fly into to get to brugge in brussels?

You fly to Brussels and then there is a fast train to Bruges that takes approx 50 minutes. Alternatively you can go by Eurostar to Brussels and then take the other train.

We went to Bruges last summer. It is a lovely place - enjoy!

Brugge is a nice place.
You need to fly into Brussels airport.

Brugge is then about 90km north but you can easily get a train.

brugge isnt in brussels.

I used to go via charlioroi (CLR) and get the train, or Via amsterdam, and train it.

Dont have to be a great explorer to get there.

i flew once with Ryanair from Stansted to Ostend(ee), then a bus into Ostend(ee), then a train to Brugge, which takes a bout 20 mins
have a look at the ostend(ee) airport website http://www.ost.aero/

Hello, looking at your questions, I found out that you're from Ireland ^-^
So taking the eurostar into Brussels isn't an option as you would have to fly to Londen first...
As somebody else already said, the airport of Ostend (Oostende) is the nearest to Brugge but I'm afraid that there aren't any airlines that fly from Ireland directly to Ostend...
So the next best thing is Brussels (Zaventem) which is the biggest airport in our country. You should be able to find an airline that flies there... From Brussels to Brugge is about an hour by train.
And watch out for the ones that fly to Brussels south (Charleroi)... Charleroi and Brussels are more than 100 km apart! It will take you another 45 minutes to get from Charleroi to Brussels and I don't think there's a train station near the airport in Charleroi...so probably first a bus...

Just a quick note: Brussels is a city in Belgium, the capital city.
Brugge is a city in Belgium.
Therefore Brugge is not IN Brussels.

Belgium isn't that big. So any airport will do. Most flights arrive at Brussels airport. Low cost flights mostly arrive at Brussels south airport (in Charleroi, which is 45km south of Brussels).
Either way, Brugge is only a train ride away.
Check for train timetables on www.b-rail.be

Flying from Ireland your most economic option is Ryan Air to Ostend and then by train to Brugge (About 15 minutes).
Other options are:"normal airlines" to Brussels National airport, shuttle train to Brussels Central Railroad station (30 minutes) and train to Bruges (1 hour).Other possibility: come down to Dover and take the ferry to Oostend or Zeebrugge. From any of those ports by railroad to Bruges: 15 minutes. And of course you have the Eurostar: but it is expensive.

Brussels, or Antwerp, you can hire a car go by bus or train very straight forward and you will love Brugge great place enjoy
