What does berlin have that other cities in germany don't?

What does berlin have that other cities in germany don't?

I have to clarify things here. The seat of the government has indeed moved from Bonn to Berlin some years ago and all the embassies did move with it! But all the buildings like the Reichstag have already been in Berlin as before Bonn, the capitol has also been Berlin. So the goverment just moved back into the former capitol.

Anyway, what has Berlin that any other German city doesnt hav?
3,6 million inhabitants.
the Brandenburg Gate.
The government.

That's it.

There are cities much more worthy looking at.

There is only one Brandenburg Gate, and it is in Berlin - not in any other German cities.

differnt history.

A torn down wall! LOL

Berlin is now the location of the German Parliament/government. aka the capital

before the fall of the wall the government rotated locations .. don't remember which cities took turns hosting the government.. Cologne,, Stuttgart....

The ishtar gate, bust of nephretiti, tv tower, and me.

As the Governing Mayor put it - Berlin is broke but sexy.

Boomer is talking total rubbish. The seat of government prior to returning to Berlin was Bonn. It did not move from place to place like some oriental caravan. Just think - all the foreign embassies would have to follow - Absolute Cr*p.

History, and berlin has the best soccer stadiums then any other cities in germany trust me i have been there

It's own unique attitude for sure.

Berlin is a city with a lot of interesting history and sights to see. Not to mention that us Berliners are a fun and diverse crowd to experience. Other German cities have interesting cultures and sights as well, but Berlin is the heart of it all. :)

It's Germany's largest city, actually the only real German Metropolitan area, the government moved back there, as some have mentioned and like the rest of Germany it is steeped in history. It's a pretty cool place, but most of Germany is that way, depends on what you want. I prefer southern Germany myself, especially Bavaria, but that's because I've lived there. Been to Berlin a couple of times and it was OK.
