Many questions about Germans...?

- Is it true if I come to Germany for few months , I must only speak Dutech , or people will not even reply to me??

- Are Muslims being discriminated againist in Germany ? If I wear Hijab (Islamic head scarf) , will I get the chance to get an internship for example? Or will it be difficult?

- What are the things that I should never return home with out buying ??

Sorry , but we know very little about Germany , and most of what is being said is that they are not friendly people..

Thanks for your honesty ....

Hey guy, people are people. I live in Deutschland and I never learned to speak Deutsch. Sad, if you want to wear a Hijab, but there are those kind of people everywhere I look. Muslims represent the fastest growing part of the population. The Turkish seem to have some of the most beautiful women here in Germany. I would only feel unsafe in large cities like Potsdam or Berlin and only then around young, bald-shaved men.

Several professional positions are off-limits if you must wear a scarf. As far as a job, everything and anything in Germany requires a Zertificate (certificate) with a stamp on the Zertificate. All jobs have training periods that award certificate of completion. Obviously, if you can't wait on customers and speak German, nobody going to hire you to work at a store or restaurant.

If you stay here longer than 30-days you will need to get a residency permit from the local burgomeister. Eu does have 4-month student vocational work visas. I don't know what country you come from.

What to buy? I don't know what you like. This is the EU. The EU won't allow Porsche to say "Made In Germany" on it, instead it has to say "Made in EU". Get a cuckoo clock if you're traveling in the Black Forest. That's pretty German. Germany used to be the world's clock manufacturer until Japan started making watches. Get some fine ceramics and cut crystal glasses.

people are people
just like in the USA some people are nice some aint that is anywhere in the world
BUY something that would make a good collectible for the future
jewlery or guitar musical instrument.or a book. I would purchase jewlery there is some beautifal german jewlery
hope you have fun.

yes they are very tolerable as they are one of most liberal countries in the world, theyre afraid to offend anyone anymore.

Germans have a reputation as Nationists and not being friendly to outsiders, Arrogant, brutish and cheap is an apt description. Don't expect them to embrace you unless you thrive on disappointment.
