Berlin's Tegal Airport to Leipzig?

Hi can anyone help me? I need to get from Tegel airport to leipzig in June by bus, rail or any other mode of public transport. Can anyone tell me the cheapest and quickest way to do this. I will be travelling alone mid afternoon. Thanks :)

Take the Tegel airport bus (TXL) to Berlin Hauptbahnhof (main train station) and then catch the Connex train to Leipzig. See http://www.bvg.de for more info on that. Fare is currently 2.10 EUR for public transport within Berlin.

The ticket for the train to Leipzig is 12 EUR. Note that Connex is a private company not associated with Deutsche Bahn, which runs the majority of train connections in Germany. (Normal fare with Deutsche Bahn is 39 EUR for Berlin-Leipzig.)

You can also buy your ticket on the connex train from the conductor, but then the fare is 20 EUR. The Connex train currently departs daily at 17:58 from Berlin. There are more connections with http://www.bahn.de , but they are more expensive.

Bus http://www.berlinlinienbus.de and Ride-Share http://www.mitfahrzentrale.de might also be options, but Connex is best.

I live in Germany, one of the quickest ways to get from Berlin Tegel to Leipzig is with Deutsche Bahn.

I would recommend this way. I am from England - I live in Germany, and used to live in Leipzig - so if you have questions on Leipzig as well - please ask.

Unfortunately Connex only runs 3 times a day - so depending on your arrival time Deutsche Bahn is your best and only option. It is safe and I use it all the time - on long and short distance journeys.

Also if you book online and at least 3 days before - you can sometimes get a special offer.
