Decent apartment in Berlin?

I'm thinking of relocating to Berlin for a couple of years. Does anyone know how much a decent one bedroom apartment, would cost for a graduate just finishing college? Any suggestions? Thanks.

Kat is right. I've lived in Prenzlauer Berg for 12 years and the prices jut went up to insane heights. Kreuzberg 36 still got small and nice apartments. I have a lot of friends living there and they pay about 500-600 for a 2-bedroom apartment. One with just one bedroom doesn't necessarily have to be cheaper, though.
Check http://www.immobilienscout24.de Unfortunately, it's in German only... Good luck and have fun in my former hometown.

Well mine is a two-bedroom in one of the nicer parts of Kreuzberg and I pay about 400 euros per month all in all.

Two suggestions: Avoid hotspots like Prenzlauer Berg, everybody currently wants to live there, so rent prices have taken a hike. Also, try not to come in February or October since that's when the semesters start and laods of students are looking for places to stay.

I'm living in Neuk枚lln, which seems to become the new up and coming district right now, probably because the rents are still rather low and lots of students move here. (And a small bar-scene is developing in the Weserstr.)
You can still get a decent 1 room apartment for 250 to 300 euro here. Immoscout24 is a good place to start searching, but if you don't know german that well you could look at http://www.exberlinerflatrentals.com/ , a service by the english monthly magazine Exberliner from Berlin.
