I have a question about issuance of flight tickets?

Let's say your on a flight from manila to geneva. You booked your flight on only one airline. Since the airline doesn't have direct flights from Manila to Geneva, it will be having a stop in which you needed to change planes. The second flight is still under the same airline and it will serve as the connection to Geneva. However, the second flight is under a different flight number than from the first flight you took.

My question is: Will you be issued a single ticket for this flight in which there is one stopover wherein you are going to change planes and fly under different flight numbers? Or will you be issued only one ticket for the two flights?

Since most tickets are now issued electronically, you should only receive one ticket. In the instance they give you a paper ticket (small in size, about the size of a cheque), you will still only receive one ticket, but may have more than one flight coupon.

For example: One coupon(one page of your paper ticket) will be for the flight from Manila to the stopover city, and the next coupon will be from the stopover city to Geneva.

Regardless, once you do receive your ticket, you should ask if it's an electronic ticket or paper ticket.

I recently flew to Italy, whereas, I had one flight to Cincinnati to connect to a different flight directly to Rome. They were two separate flights and flight numbers, but the same airline for each flight and flight number. Both flights were issued within one ticket book but may come as one or two separate tickets, depending on the airline. You will find out specifically when you check in for the originating flight.
