Is marijuana legal in Switzerland like it is in Amsterdam?

ShyNsassy you certainly have asked people who do it frequently, but you cannot sit in nearly any coffee and smoke some joints... I mean some people do it in some places but it is illegal and if you are caught you might get a fine.

Now it is still ILLEGAL in Switzerland to plant, to commercialize and to smoke cannabis. Punition will be more severe if you sell it than if you smoke it. You can even go to prison for one day or two if you are caught selling it.

However law is variable from canton to canton and some of them TOLERATE limited smoking in some places.

There are discussions in Switzerland whether or not to depenalize cannabis... BUT CANNABIS IS STILL ILLEGAL RIGHT NOW...

So to reply to the question, NO, marijuana is not legal in Switzerland as it is in Amsterdam.

yes you can sit at a coffee shop and you can light a bowle up or joint... Yes it is I have family there. And I just called and asked them... So yes it is.. ANyone can do it there, its not that you have to go to dr. to get legal, you can just smoke it there anywhere almost..

yea sure is! marijuana is legal in switzerland, but the funny thing is, its only legal to SMOKE it, its illegal to actually plant it! now thats weird! cause I still havent figured out how to get marijuana without producing it.
