Anyone knows any budget accomodations (hotels, motels etc) in Geneva, Switzerland? |
Anyone knows any budget accomodations (hotels, motels etc) in Geneva, Switzerland? Geneva is very expensive, even for Swiss standards. It may be worth looking across the border, as the hotels in France are usually much cheaper than those in Switzerland. The French city of Annemasse belongs to the metropolitan area of Geneva and has quite a few hotels. Try looking at the Time Out web site, they have sections for different levels of accommodation from luxury to budget in many towns in Europe, worth a look! Go to www.craigslist.com try budget accomodations at myswitzerland.com. www.rooms.ch is another good source. in Geneva, i think there's a Hotel Drake that goes for 120CHF per single room (1 person) for the night; that's reasonable for Switzerland. I can't remember the name of the Motel,i think that it is Etap Hotel, but all i can tell you is that you need to Take the bus 10 from the Airport in Geneva. then ask the bus driver where the stop for Balexert shopping center or mall is and the Motel is right across from it. I paid $99 per day. the room has a bunk bed, the bottom is a full size bed and the top is a single size bed. it is located right on the bus line to downtown, a few minutes from it, you can take any bus that says Cornavin. |
